The hike to Clouds Rest is a 22 mile, four day and three night hike
beginning at Tenaya Lake just off Tioga Road and ending at Yosemite
Valley with spectacular summits of Clouds Rest and Half Dome in
between. Clouds Rest is a fairly strenuous hike over a well defined
and signed trail through beautiful forest. The final "scramble"
is not for those with a fear of heights. The "payoff" for all the
effort is an inspiring 360 view of Yosemite back country from the
summit of Clouds Rest at an elevation of 9949 feet over Yosemite
Valley.
The hike to the top of the
famous Half Dome is a must do for adventure seeking Yosemite
National Park visitors. After a steep climb to the base of the dome
is the intimidating final climb up the infamous Half Dome cables which
allow hikers to reach the top of the enormous granite dome. Again, the
"payoff" of reaching the top is worth the heart pounding climb. Spectacular
view of Yosemite Valley and back country from the 8800 foot summit.
All-in-all a great trip!
